Brief Note About Transitions

By art coach | June 24, 2007

A note about transitions

Just wanted to make a comment tonight about transitions. We used the option in IMOVIE to include transitions between the scenes. This is a great option where one piece of footage fades into another.
We had to do it because we were working with still pictures.

SPLIT THE VIDEO AT THE PLAYHEAD. Go to the EDITING tap and chose TRANSITION.
Some of the transitions give you the option of moving them in a certain direction. The direction indicator will be available depending on the transition you have chosen. You can also choose a speed for the transition.
Once you have chosen the transition insert it between the two scenes you want the transition to take place. If you change your mind you can click UPDATE and this will give you the option to choose another transition.
If you are working with a moving picture and you are not certain where to put transitions you can get a feel just by looking at TV and movies. Observe where they use transitions.
